Guy Manning
is one of less than two hundred Federation of Fly Fishers Master Certified Casting Instructors worldwide and has been teaching fly casting since early in his fly fishing career.
Since first picking up the sport in 1990 Guy has spent much of his time studying the art, science and techniques of fly fishing and fly casting. With a library of over 120 volumes on different aspects of the sport he has been influenced by both historical and contemporary writers and teachers. His inital influences were the anglers and instructors who frequented the Long Beach Casting Club in Southern California during the 1990's. Guy has also been fortunate to have also been exposed to the teachings of many of the great instructors and casters on the West Coast including Mel Krieger, Al Kyte, as well as both Tim and Steve Rajeff.
He is an active member member of: Long Beach Casting Club, Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club, and Shasta-Trinity Fly Fishers, Shasta Mayflies, and the Federation of Fly Fishers. He is also a contributor to a number of Fly Casting related web forums on the internet and is the founder and moderator of FFFCCI Yahoo Group, the first internet user group for casting instructors focusing on the education of Fly Casting.
Guy offers Casting Instructor Workshops, Hosted Trips to Baja, Private and Group Casting Instruction, Fly Fishing Club oriented presentations on casting, casting analysis, fishing techniqes, and fly line design and selection. Guy also offers Casting Instructor Workshops 2 or 3 times a year for those people pusuing an FFF certification.
Guy fishes the waters of California, Oregon and the Sea of Cortez.
Guy spent 5 years as casting coach and mentor to Dusty and George Revel while they became the nations youngest FFF Certified Casting Instructors.
The Revels became sponsored Pro-Staff with Orvis Corp. for about 4 years and have both become American Casting Association Junior & Intermediate National Casting Champions. Both George and Dusty have set national casting records within their age groups.

Dusty is currently enrolled at Humbotlt State University where he also finds time to pursue Pacific Coast Steelhead.
